AUSTIN, Texas, Feb. 26, 2025 — Reichman Jorgensen Lehman & Feldberg LLP (RJLF), a national trial boutique, has announced that Scott Cole, a veteran trial lawyer and patent litigator, has joined the firm as Managing Partner of its Austin office.
With three decades of experience in commercial and intellectual property disputes, Cole has tried over 30 cases to verdict and recovered more than $1 billion for his clients. This includes an impressive record of four nine-figure verdicts and numerous eight- and seven-figure outcomes. Recognized by IAM Patent 1000 as a leading patent litigator for more than a decade, Cole’s expertise spans a broad spectrum of industries, including telecommunications, microprocessors, enterprise software, video streaming, oil and gas, and health care.
“Scott represents the caliber of leadership and trial expertise that defines our firm,” said Jennifer Estremera, Managing Partner of RJLF. “Scott is a trial lawyer. And at the top of his game. He has that rare combination of trial persuasion, intellect, and integrity that delivers for clients, and an extensive trial record to show for it. We are thrilled to have Scott lead our Austin office.”
Among his many landmark achievements, Cole was instrumental in securing the nearly $400 million Versata Software v. SAP victory—one of the largest patent litigation wins of its time—earning him accolades such as “Litigator of the Week” by both Texas Lawyer and The American Lawyer. His deep trial expertise encompasses every litigation phase, from jury selection to closing arguments, ensuring seamless execution in even the most complex cases.
“I am excited to join RJLF, a firm that doesn’t just litigate but tries—and wins—big, complex cases for its clients,” said Cole. “This firm is built on a foundation of trial excellence and delivering results when it matters most. I look forward to working with this extraordinary team, leading our efforts in Austin, and continuing to achieve groundbreaking victories for our clients.”
Cole joins RJLF following leadership roles at top firms, including Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP, where he helped establish the Austin office, and McKool Smith, where he contributed significantly during his 20-year tenure. He is a graduate of The University of Texas School of Law, where he earned his degree with honors on a full academic scholarship.
