Senior Policy Advisor Kate Goodrich Joins Holland & Knight As It Continues Growth of Texas Government Advocacy Team

AUSTIN, Texas (February 24, 2025) – Holland & Knight welcomes Kate Goodrich as a senior policy advisor and member of the Firm’s Texas Government Advocacy Team in Austin. Most recently, Ms. Goodrich was deputy general counsel and policy advisor for the Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives. Prior to joining the speaker’s office, Ms. Goodrich was a governmental affairs consultant with Jackson Walker.

Ms. Goodrich is an experienced legislative lawyer. While working for the Texas Speaker of the House, she advised on hundreds of pieces of legislation, including priority bills that focused primarily on the budget, transportation, veterans, housing, the judiciary and local governments, as well as complex legal questions. She has also worked for the Texas Senate Health and Services Committee, Senate Finance Committee and Senate Natural Resources and Economic Development Committee. Last year, Ms. Goodrich was recognized by Chambers USA as a “Nationwide Associate to Watch” in the Government Relations: State & Local category.

Ms. Goodrich earned a J.D. degree from The University of Texas School of Law, a master’s degree from Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, and a B.A. degree from The University of Texas at Austin. She is licensed to practice law in the state of Texas.
